Undergraduate Programs

Since its founding in 1959, the School of Engineering has been guided by its training industry-ready engineer motto in its approach to undergraduate education. We distinguish ourselves by offering four ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering that serve a large population of first-generation. Each of these programs offers a unique set of focus areas that are aligned with the industry needs around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Our programs offer a solid foundation in the theoretical fundamentals in each of these engineering fields, while emphasizing project-based learning, undergraduate research experiences, and real-world internships. We strive to help students develop a strong passion for knowledge, for learning by doing, for innovating relentlessly through projects and undergraduate research opportunities. Through these overarching objectives, we aspire to channel our students’ unbridled curiosities and enthusiasms for creating, tinkering, building, and challenging the status quo into solving real-world problems that ultimately benefit our communities and humankind.
