We do not offer financial assistance within the School of Engineering.  Please visit Graduate Studies Funding Your Education to find financial assistance for eligible students.

It is a case by case with students, however, it is rare for incoming students to get a TA/RA support as those are typically awarded to current students that have been in our program for a few semesters.

With obtaining an advanced degree, please take in consideration it typically takes 1.5 years to complete your coursework. 

Your application should be submitted online before the university deadline.

Yes, a GPA of 3.0 (in last 60 semester units or 90 quarter units) is required.

The decision for the admission is made once all the required documents are received and reviewed. Once the decision for the admission is made, you will be informed by the admission office

You can talk to graduate program coordinator and proof would be required to verify that the prerequisite was successfully completed. The final decision is made by the graduate program coordinator.

Admission deferment may be possible. Please contact the Graduate Coordinator for your program to see if they will consider a request to defer your offer of admission by submitting the Petition for Graduate Admission Exception (PGA) Form.

It is recommended, (especially international students) that you notify the respective graduate office of your plans.

After submitting your application form, you will receive ane-mail from San Francisco State University Admission Office, with a student ID and password. You will use these credentials to accessthe mySFSU page.
If you did not receive this information contact the register office and request a Student ID and email account.
