June 21, 2022

Dr. Zhaoshuo Jiang, an associate professor in the School of Engineering, was awarded the AY 2022-2023 California State University STEM-NET Fellows Grant. The goal of the grant is to support and encourage the development of a strong program of research or scholarship by faculty members in STEM fields. STEM-NET Fellows awards help fund activity that supports the submission of large external grants aligned with STEM-NET's mission and help further the vision. Faculty will be compensated for three (3) semester units (AWTU) for each semester, Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, and a summer 2022 stipend of $5,000.

As the sole SFSU recipient of this by-nomination-only award, Dr. Jiang is recognized for his outstanding scholarship and the ability to establish strong research programs through building cross-CSU research collaborations. In Dr. Jiang’s own words, “being a STEM-NET faculty fellow will unfold exciting opportunities to enhance multi-campus collaboration to transform the future of STEM teaching and learning. I look forward to learning from and collaborating with my colleagues across the CSU to develop convergent research and educational opportunity for students and to advance a diverse and inclusive workforce to respond to the changing world.”

Congratulations to Dr. Jiang and to the School of Engineering for this recognition! We look forward to much future positive research news from Dr. Jiang’s work.
