WingNote - Finalists at Treehacks 2025

A team of student innovators from San Francisco State University has made waves at TreeHacks 2025, Stanford University’s premier hackathon, where they were selected from over 12,000 applicants to join just 1,000 hackers for a high-intensity 36-hour coding event.
Among 300+ mentors and judges, and with the support of 40 sponsoring companies, the SFSU team developed WingNote—a groundbreaking hardware and AI solution designed to streamline medical documentation for nurses while providing patients with clear, personalized health summaries in their native languages.
The team's innovation earned them Google’s 1st prize for Best Use of Gemini AI, a top honor that recognizes the most impactful and creative application of Google’s cutting-edge technology. Each team member was awarded a Google Pixel Watch for their achievement.
“This was an incredible opportunity to push the boundaries of what AI and hardware integration can do in real-world healthcare settings,” the team shared. “We’re proud to represent SFSU on such a big stage and are excited about the future of WingNote.”
TreeHacks continues to serve as a launchpad for emerging tech talent, and this year’s success story from SFSU is a testament to the university's growing presence in the national innovation scene.
