Adrienne Posner and Jenn Marroquin from the Google Education team visited San Francisco State University (SFSU) on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019. They spent the whole afternoon meeting with students and faculty of the School of Engineering (SoE) and the Computer Science Department. Both toured a few engineering labs including the Rapid Prototyping Lab (RPL) and the Intelligence Computing and Embedded Systems Laboratory (see more information about SoE research labs), and were impressed by the projects and our students’ passions for research.

The visit ended with a career workshop co-organized by Google and the IEEE and ACM SFSU student chapters. Adrienne and Jenn introduced various tech opportunities to engineering and CS students at Google, explained the hiring process, provided valuable advice and suggestions to the students on how to prepare for job searching, and answered many questions from the students. Over 160 students attended the 90-minute workshop. We thank Adrienne and Jenn for visiting our campus and look forward to more interaction between our School and Google in the future.
