Douglas Codron

Ph.D. in Astronautical Engineering, University of Southern California, 2012

M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, California State University, Northridge, 2007

B.S. in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Environmental Science, University of California, Los Angeles, 2005

Dr. Codron received his Ph.D. in Astronautical Engineering from USC's Viterbi School of Engineering in 2012. His research was focused on cathode erosion in magnetoplasmadynamic (MPD) thrusters for spacecraft propulsion. Upon finishing his Ph.D., Dr. Codron completed a two year postdoctoral appointment at NASA Ames Research Center where he investigated arc jet heating effects on thermal protection system (TPS) materials for entry spacecraft. He has also worked in industry helping to develop both commercial and governmental satellites.

Dr. Codron currently teaches in the Engineering and Physics departments at SFSU, as well as in the Physics department at CSUEB.
