Entry-Level Transportation Engineer (Berkeley, CA Office)

Parisi Transportation Consulting provides traffic engineering and transportation planning services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Our services include Complete Streets planning and design, bicycle and pedestrian planning and design, Safe Routes to School planning, and municipal support. Parisi has offices in Berkeley and Sausalito, California.

Parisi is looking for Associate Transportation Engineers to join our expanding team in our Berkeley, CA office.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with members of the Parisi team and will participate on a variety of projects and tasks, including traffic engineering, transportation planning, Complete Streets, Safe Routes to School, pedestrian and bicycle facility planning and design assignments.

The person hired for this position will participate in all stages of project development including presentations and client meetings, fieldwork, conducting planning and engineering analysis, and the preparation of plans and technical reports.

The successful candidate will analyze and solve complex transportation planning and engineering problems, communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and use a variety of software tools to develop transportation solutions.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a EIT with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil engineering. S/he/ they will have at least two years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering and/or transportation planning, have excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities, and possess outstanding interpersonal skills.

The person hired must have strong experience in transportation systems planning and design. A broad knowledge base in civil engineering and transportation planning is essential along with specific proficiency in motorized vehicle, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian facility design. Expertise in civil and transportation engineering software suites (e.g., AutoCAD, Synchro, Vistro) and design standards (e.g., HDM, MUTCD, NACTO) is desired.
