Biography

Philip Frances graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2001, with an Electrical Engineering degree. He joined SFSU in 2005 as a Graduate student, focusing on Autonomous Systems. Though the degree is still pending, he has completed all courses and project work towards graduation, and is eagerly anticipating appending "M.S." to his name above.

Phil has been teaching laboratory courses at SFSU for several years, including Mechatronics and Feedback Control Systems. Previously, Philip taught similar Robotics course-material at UC Santa Barbara, and also performed IT and management tasks for Instructional Computing. He enjoys any projects involving robotics and control systems, and he participates every year in Combot competitions with team RFC.
