Biography

Dr. Pong graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994 with a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Control. Dr. Pong worked for a structural engineering consulting firm before he joined San Francisco State University in 1998. Currently, he teaches Steel Structures, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Engineering Mechanics of Solids, and Engineering Graphics. He is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers Association of California and Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. Dr. Pong's research interests include Earthquake Engineering, Structural Control, and Seismic Structural Design.
