The Peter John Filanc Leadership Scholarship in Engineering for all engineering Students

Available to all undergraduate and graduate engineering students

DESCRIPTION:
The Peter John Filanc Leadership Scholarship in Engineering is created in loving memory of Peter J. Filanc. Peter was a dedicated philanthropist and a nationally recognized leader in the water and waste water industries. He was a devoted supporter of education and had a passion for mentoring and supporting young engineers. In Peter's final years of life, he took charge of designing, fundraising and establishing a bachelor program in Construction Engineering and Management within San Diego State University's College of Engineering. He raised five million dollars within three years to implement the program. Six years later, The J.R. Filanc Construction Engineering and Management Program became an accredited major at SDSU. Peter was a well-rounded and passionate leader whose dedication, intelligence and hard work inspired so many.

The SF State School of Engineering is honored that through the Peter John Filanc Foundation we are able to continue Peter's legacy so that his memory will live on through generations. The scholarship winner is announced at the annual Engineering Banquet in May.
