GE for Engineering Students Entering BEFORE Fall 2014

 

Engineering students (Native and Transfer students) admitted before Fall 2014 are required to complete courses within GE Segments I, II, and III below. Native students refer to students who started out as freshmen at SFSU.

Additional LLD, AERM, and Upper Division Requirements:

1. Native students are required to satisfy LLD, AERM, and Upper Division Requirements from with Segment II courses. These requirements can be fulfilled by one or more courses taken in Segment II (BSS) or Segment II (HCA).

2. Transfer students are required to satisfy LLD and Upper Division Requirement from within Segment II courses. These requirement can be fulfilled by one or more courses taken in Segment II (BSS) or Segment II (HCA).

[AERM]: American Ethnic and Racial Minorities

 

Special Notes:

(i) These are courses within the Engineering majors that are double-counted as GE. Hence no additional courses are required.

(ii) For both Native and Transfer students, 3 units of US History can be double-counted toward Segment II (BSS).

(iii)In addition to double-counting US History as Segment II (BSS), For Transfer Students who transfer BOTH US History and US/CA Local and State Government courses (6 units) to SFSU, all 6 units will be double-counted toward Segment II (BSS). If only one course is transferred, only 3 units will be double-counted.Native students are limited to a maximum of 3 units of double-counting in US History (or US/CA Local and State Government).

(iv)For Segment III, students are required to complete 2 courses from within one approved Cluster: one course from Category A and one course from Category B. Also, one of the two courses are required to be a CESD course.
